Native file attachment is not supported in Lync UI suppression mode. This file attachment technique requires Microsoft Lync Server 2013 resources and should only be used in the context of a group conversation. Instead, the topic describes how to use the conversation .Sharing.ContentSharingModality to attach files to a conversation so that all conversation participants can access the files. This topic does not describe how to transfer a file from one peer in a conversation to another peer in a conversation. The sample application shown in figure 1 is a Windows Forms application that implements the Lync 2013 API to let a user attach files to a conversation. When the file is in the conversation content bin, it is available to be downloaded by all other conversation participants.
